HISTORY
In May of 1980, a committee was appointed to investigate the feasibility of awarding an annual Club scholarship. Since that time, the committee, fellow members, and members of the Ladies Auxiliary have accomplished the following:
The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Joe Nolan and is called
the “Joseph R. Nolan Memorial Scholarship.” It is awarded annually to high school graduates who will attend an accredited college or university. Emphasis is placed on three major qualifiers; scholastic ability, character, and leadership.
In June of 1981, two scholarships were awarded totaling $750.00. Since that day of these first two scholarships, 80 additional awards have been presented, bringing the total to $100,000.00.
